Diversity, at work – a roundtable discussion

Date: 29 Jun 2010

In today's progressive workplace, a strong focus on diversity is essential. But just how are organisations responding to this need, and what have they learnt along the way? These are exactly the type of questions we'll be aiming to answer at our forthcoming roundtable discussion.

Attendees will gain insight into some of the latest thinking from two major employers. Enterprise Rent-a-Car is a privately owned but large global company where a well-developed diversity approach internally supports improved performance for the customer externally. Royal Mail still represents one of the largest public sector employers in the UK. Both will be offering case studies into how their organisations are responding to diversity needs:

  • Jim Burrell, European MD of Enterprise Rent-a-Car, will explain why CEOs should know how important diversity is and how he was convinced of the importance of diversity in his workforce.
  • David Stephenson, Group Head of Organisation Development at Royal Mail will review their own data and subsequent insights on the issue of diversity, talk about the broad challenges they currently face as well as discussing the ways in which they're set to improve diversity in their workforce.

Following on from that will be debate and discussion, and a chance to share experiences of diversity and inclusion as well as gain insight and learn from fellow senior HR professionals.
