Adventures in recruitment marketing and employer branding
So what's the story?
Bernard Hodes Group has been appointed as Barclays’ global recruitment marketing partner following a thorough competitive tendering exercise. The three-year contract is understood to include all Barclays’ recruitment marketing and related activity, with the exception of its investment banking arm (Barclays Capital) and UK graduate remits.
As the only high-street bank not to have sought direct government support in the recent financial crisis, Barclays is well placed for further growth, both in the UK and other markets across the world. With this in mind, a key aim of the review process was to appoint a single global recruitment marketing partner should it prove feasible to do so. In the event, Hodes was seen to stand out in terms of its genuinely global capability, while the quality of its people was thought to be a further key factor in Barclays’ decision.
Given the key importance of the implementation phase, the account will initially be co-ordinated through Hodes’ London office to ensure global consistency. As soon as this has been effectively bedded in, levels of local connectivity will increase significantly. And with a variety of client resourcing issues requiring immediate attention, Hodes’ brand and creative functions are already becoming actively involved.
